Frequently asked questions
What is Payback? Payback is an expression for all types of refunding that is processed between a poker room and the player. There are two main categories of Payback which are Monthly Payback(also called Rakeback) and Bonus Payback. Bonus Payback includes all other types of refunding such as Sign up bonuses, Reload bonuses, VIP programs and Loyalty programs. What is rake? Rake is the cut that the poker room takes from each played pot which usually is 5% of the pots size. The rake use to be capped at $3 and range from $0.5 to $3. Whats the difference between rakeback and Payback? Payback is a wider expression than rakeback and has become popular recently since several networks has decided to abandon rakeback as a concept. Rakeback is based on a percental cut you get back from the rake you have paid during the month while Payback is an expression for all types of refunding being processed between the poker room and the player. There can be hundreds of dollars for a hobby player and thousands of dollars for a high volume player. Yes it seems that way at first sight, unfortunately it is not that easy to judge which poker room you should choose. Several of the poker rooms offering Bonus Payback might have VIP programs and bonuses which can be more profitable then the percental cut you receive from the poker room offering Monthly Payback. There are also different promos you should consider before you make your decision. Which offer should I choose?
